Step back in time as you're surrounded by the largest stone fort ever built by the British Colonies. The historic stone fort stood as a key to Maryland's frontier defense during the French and Indian War. Fort Frederick was built in 1756 and has been painstakingly restored. Historic displays are inside the Fort, barracks and Visitor Centers. The park annually holds military reenactments and other special events. Its lands adjoin the Potomac River and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal passes through it.
Reservations must be made 1 Day(s) ahead of arrival and can be made up to 365 Day(s) in advance.
