Description
So much to do, so little time! Major park areas include the Hereford Area in Parkton with 20+ miles of trail through protected State Wildlands and ample opportunities for trout fishing and bird watching. The Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail is a popular 19.7-mile improved surface trail that stretches from Cockeysville, MD to the Pennsylvania line. Dozens of miles of trail can also be accessed throughout the Central Area, which includes both the Little Gunpowder Falls and Big Gunpowder Falls river valleys. The Hammerman Area in Middle River offers guarded swimming beaches, picnic areas, and reservable shelters. Hammerman Area (beach and pavilions) - From I-95 take exit 67A for Route 43 east (White Marsh Boulevard). Follow 43 to Route 40 east. Turn right at the first light onto Ebenezer Road and follow it for 4.5 miles. The park entrance will be on your left. Address: 7200 Graces Quarters, Middle River, MD 21220.
Mill Pond Cottage From I-83 N, take exit 27 and turn left on Mt. Carmel Road and then a right on Masemore Road. The physical address is 17700 Masemore Road, Parkton, MD 21120.
Camp Wood:
Driving Directions: Physical address is 17528 Bunker Hill Rd, Parkton, MD 21220. From I-83 N, take exit 27 and turn right onto Mt. Carmel Road. At the traffic light, turn left onto York Road. Pass Hereford High School and turn left onto Bunker Hill Road. Continue on Bunker Hill Road to the large asphalt parking lot.
Camp Cone:
Driving Directions: Physical address is 11757 Camp Cone Rd, Glen Arm, MD 21057. From Harford Road (MD-147), turn onto Sharon Drive. When you reach Camp Cone Road, turn left. The park is located at the very end of Camp Cone Road. There will be a designated turn around and a park sign by the main gate.
