Formed over 15 million years ago, the Calvert Cliffs span 30 miles of shoreline along the Chesapeake Bay in Southern Maryland. Visitors can view these magnificent cliffs from the park. Over 600 species of fossils have been identified from these cliffs, with the teeth of various species of shark as the most abundant fossils. The park offers nature trails, picnic areas, playground equipment, youth group camping, fishing and many interpretative programs. This is the Ideal destination for birding and wildlife viewing!
